Foster Care Program

TURBEVILLE CHILDREN’S HOME IS A LICENSING AGENCY FOR FAMILY FOSTER HOMES BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE.
Foster Care at a Glance:
When a child is removed from their family, they need a stable and caring foster family to take care of them. Foster care is designed to temporarily offer children a secure environment until they can be reunited with a parent or guardian. Although foster homes are temporary, the love and attention a child receives there can have a long-lasting effect.
Foster Children Need Parents Who Can:
Accept their sense of loss and help them heal. Be self-confident, but not afraid to ask for support. Work with social workers, teachers, and therapists. Support their racial and cultural differences and advocate for them.

Who Can Be A Foster Parent?
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and be willing to complete all SC state licensing requirements. Applicants will also complete an application and profile information detailing your family history.
